Shelby ButcherSophomore • Laguna Niguel, CATENNIS EXPERIENCEAs her first year on varsity is approaching, Shelby is ready to step up and be a major asset to the team. She is ranked 90 in the satellites and 341 in the opens. Shelby has dominated with her partner Jacqueline Stewart. They have won the LNRC doubles tournament and the Anaheim Hills doubles tourney. Also, Shelby and Jacqueline, who are both sophomores, were Junior Varsity South Coast League champions last year. PERSONALHer favorite food is tomatoes and her favorite movie is A Walk to Remember. Shelby goes by the quote "Live life to the fullest". Shelby loves to go to Hawaii and her favorite tennis player is Andy Roddick. Shelby would love to play college tennis and also major in Biology. After college, Shelby wants to become a pediatrician. |

Janis ChouSenior • Laguna Niguel, CATENNIS EXPERIENCEJanis started her Dana Hills tennis experience on the Frosh/Soph team. Over the years she has continued to work on her game every off season and has made it to the varsity level this year. Last year she saw playing time primarily in doubles and with her hard work can make an impact with her doubles experience. PERSONALJanis enjoys eating anything that is Japanese. When Janis is not on the court training she loves to relax and spend her time reading. Her favorite books are The Time Traveler’s Wife and My Sister’s Keeper. She does not know if she will play college tennis but she does know that she wants to study Education and Psychology in hopes of one day becoming a teacher. |

Kendra CornellSenior • Dana Point, CATENNIS EXPERIENCEA returning varsity player, senior Kendra Cornell is pumped to dominate her opponents. PERSONALKendra's favorite food is BBQ chicken salad, and her favorite movie is Little Miss Sunshine. Her all-time favorite read is Lovely Bones, and while on the tennis court she tries to emmulate Andy Roddick. Her fondest vacation memories are of her trip to Jamaica. Kendra’s heart is set on majoring in Psychology and “making bank” throughout her life. |

Kristi CulpSenior • Laguna Niguel, CATENNIS EXPERIENCEKristi is delighted to join varsity during her senior year at Dana. She impressively won the Nellie Gail satellite. PERSONALHer favorite foods are meatballs and watermelon, and her all-time favorite movie is The Ultimate Gift. Her favorite book is Left to Tell, and her favorite professional tennis players are the Bryan brothers. Kristi’s favorite vacation was spent in Malawi, Africa. She aspires to play college tennis. Because of her passion for helping others, Kristi plans to major in Social Work. |

Catherine FeveryJunior • Laguna Niguel, CATENNIS EXPERIENCECatherine Fevery is excited to kick off her junior year as a returning varsity player. Catherine helped the dolphins achieve their consecutive CIF championships, and has returned for more. Her hopes are high for starting in the doubles line up and continuing the success she has had in the past. PERSONALCatherine enjoys putting away the pasta, and watching the comedy Tropic Thunder. She loves to read the Gossip Girl series, but on the court, she emulates her favorite Maria Sharapova. Her fondest vacation memories were of Hawaii, and she is working towards her goal of college tennis. |

Her experience in playing both singles and doubles in Open tournaments should help her contribute at the varsity level this season. PERSONALWithout a doubt, her favorite food is Israeli couscous, and her favorite quote is “It’s not over till it’s over.” She is in awe of Roger Federer, and her best vacation was spent in Hawaii. Last year she played primarily JV doubles and is looking to make an impact in the doubles line up this season. Kristen was a finalist of the Nellie Gail Satellite, the winner of the Fullerton Satellite, and the finalist of the Anaheim Satellite. Sabine LudwigFreshman • Capistrano Beach, CATENNIS EXPERIENCESabine is thrilled to have made Varsity as a Freshman this year and is ready to dedicate herself to the team. In the 14's, she was in three tournament finals, and in the 16's she has reached two finals. In a charity tournament, she placed second in doubles, and received the Best Female Player Award at a Nike tennis camp. PERSONALShe loves to eat Golden Spoon and watch The Incredibles. Her favorite quote is “There falls no shadow where there shines no sun.” Federer is her favorite player, and her favorite vacation place is Hawaii.. |

Kasey MatthessSophomore • Laguna Niguel, CATENNIS EXPERIENCEEntering her second year as part of the varsity team, Kasey hopes to continue her tennis success this season. Kasey finished in 2nd place in the 2008 Zonals. Last year she saw playing time in singles and doubles and was an integral part in helping Dana Hills repeat as CIF champions last year. You may recognize her from the cover of the Nike Tennis Camps magazine. PERSONALKasey can be found eating sushi at a local restaurant in her free time. One of her favorite movies is The Nightmare Before Christmas. She hopes to play college tennis in the future. |

Jessica PerezFreshman • Laguna Niguel, CATENNIS EXPERIENCEJessica is ecstatic to become a major contributor to the team as a freshman. Jessica is ranked and competes in all age divisions. She is ranked in the top 20 in southern California for girls 14’s singles, and in the top 85 Nationally in girls 16’s doubles. Her doubles game is ready to make an immediate impact this season as she has won many doubles tournaments. Recently she placed fourth in the 2009 Easter Bowl.. Her experience and success in both singles and doubles makes her a very tough freshman for her opponents. PERSONALJessica's favorite quote is “It’s not what you are, it’s what you wanna be.” She loves to watch Andy Roddick, and her favorite vacation was her trip to New York to see the 2009 U.S. Open. She loves to write and wants to be a sports writer and or commentator one day. She plans to continue training hard in hopes of trying the professional circuit. |

Alyssa SmithFreshman • Laguna Niguel, CATENNIS EXPERIENCEAs an incoming freshman, Alyssa joins the team not knowing what to expect. However, she is ready for any challenge she may face. She is ranked 2 in southern California and 6 in the nation for the under 14's division. She has had great success in tournaments. She was the Winter Supernational doubles champion, the Easter Bowl doubles champion, and placed third in Easter Bowl singles. PERSONALHer favorite food is Italian and her favorite movies are Harry Potter and the Dark Knight. To relax, she enjoys reading the Hunger Games and Twilight. Roger Federer is her favorite tennis player and she loves going to Fiji on vacation. She is still on the fence about playing college tennis, but she wants to major in Sports Medicine while attendding a four year university. Her dream is to one day play professionally as a tennis player. |

She has excelled throughout the years and experienced winning CIF two years in a row. She is currently ranked 6 in the 16 and unders in southern California and is ranked 21 in the 18 and unders. PERSONALJoanna loves all kinds of food but in particular she enjoys munching on quesadillas, pizza, ice cream from Rite Aid, and burritos. Her favorite movie is A Walk to Remember and she likes to read Twilight. Joanna's favorite tennis players are Elena Dementieva, Richard Gasquet, and Rebecca Winkle. She hopes to play college tennis at a top university. |

She was the Dana Hills Tennis Center Easter Finalist, Fountain Valley Finalist, and she won the LNRC tournament in doubles. Last season Jacqueline and her doubles partner, Shelby Butcher, took first place in JV South Coast League Finals. PERSONALHer favorite tennis player is Andy Roddick and is a huge fan of the movie The Hangover. Jacqueline hopes to continue playing tennis in college and then eventually become a party planner. |

Jessica WilcoxSophomore • Laguna Niguel, CATENNIS EXPERIENCEJessica Wilcox is an eager sophomore looking to make her opponents cry. She is fierce on the court and puts her intimidation to good use. She is ranked 34 in the satellites and 296 in the 16 and under opens. Jessica was the champion of the 16 and under Costa Mesa Open and the champion of the 16 and under Anaheim Hills tournament. Additionally, Jessica was the Junior Varsity South Coast League champion in singles last year. PERSONALHer favorite food is a cheese quesadilla from Del Taco and her favorite movies are The Hangover and I Love You Man. In her spare time she loves to read Watchers and her favorite tennis player is Gilles Simon. In college, she wants to play college tennis and eventually become an interior designer. |

She is ranked 197 in the girls 18’s and was a big contributor in helping Dana Hills win back to back CIF championships. PERSONALWhen watching tennis, Laura prefers to see Roger Federer. She tries to live by the quote, “Dream as if you’ll live forever, life as is you’ll die today.” She hopes to continue her tennis success at the college level while studying Mathematics and Political Science. |

Victoria WingSenior • Laguna Niguel, CATENNIS EXPERIENCEVictoria Wing is over the moon about playing varsity tennis for her fourth year as well as leading the team as one of the captains. This senior has been a major part of Dana's back to back CIF Division I championships. She is ranked in the top 60 in the Southern California singles, and recently won the Sacramento Level 3 Nationals Doubles. PERSONALHer favorite foods are sushi, cookie dough ice cream, and tiramisu. She loves to watch Borat, and her favorite quote is “For you, a thousand times over.” Victoria hopes to continue her tennis career at the college level. |

Last year she was a finalist in the Junior Varisity League Finals. PERSONALShe loves to watch Roger Federer while he is breaking tennis records. Adri enjoys watching She’s the Man and her favorite food is pasta. Adri could read the Harry Potter series over and over again. Adri loves to visit Calabria, Italy. Even though she does not plan on playing college tennis, she will be busy studying Business/Economics. She hopes to be a CEO of a company one day. |
